Fees effective 20 October 2008

It is the intention of the Dublin Gliding Club to keep flying fees as low as possible in order to maximise flying. We believe the fees below are very reasonable and reflect that intention.

Visitor Fees

Trial lesson including trial membership
(see note 1, 2)

Members from other clubs

 15.00 euro per day

  1. Trial lessons can also be arranged for groups on midweek evenings during the Summer at the day membership rates above
  2. Launch is to 3000 feet (cloudbase permitting). Trial membership is for one month, starting the day of trial lesson.
  3. Members in good standing from Ulster Gliding Club enjoy reciprocal membership

  1. Student membership applies to full time students under the age of 23 years
  2. Associate membership is at the discretion of the committee and is limited to 12 launches per annum
  3. The joining fee is a once off payment payable when full ordinary/student membership is taken up. A rejoining fee (charged at the discretion of the committee) is payable if membership has lapsed.

Flying Fees (Cash)

Launch to 1000 feet 17.00 euro
Launch to 2000 feet 30.00 euro
Launches above 2000 feet add 7.00 euro for every 1000 feet (or part thereof) above 2000 feet
Simulated Cable Break 15.00 euro
Long tow 1.00 euro per minute of tug time after 8 mins

Flying Fees (Tickets)

Book of ten tickets
(See note 1)		 250.00 euro

  1. A flight ticket may be used for one glider launch to 2000 feet only.

Soaring charges (payable on all club gliders)

All gliders

0.20 euro per minute (30-60 minutes)
1.00 euro per minute (after 60 minutes)

Tug Use

Training / aerotow retrieves 100.00 euro per hour

Other Fees

Two seater glider rental
(see note 1)

Single seater glider rental

Trailerage/long term storage for full members

150.00 euro p.a. (active use)

600.00 euro p.a. (non-active)

  1. Glider rental is at the discretion of the CFI and with the approval of the committee - please request in advance
